9 year anniversary with Michaela (Little) and Lisa (Big)

Michaela was just 8 years old when she was matched with her Big Sister, Lisa.  They have a lasting friendship that will continue even when their time with Big Brothers Big Sisters comes to an end. The pair enjoys baking, going out for hot chocolate, walks, and movies.  Lisa has said that she and Michaela will “always be sisters” and Lisa feels so lucky to have been matched with Michaela. She even chose Michaela to be a junior bridesmaid in her wedding party.  Michaela just graduated from high school and has plans to go to UVic in the fall.  She would like to become a veterinarian.  Thank you so much to Michaela and Lisa who have been a part of BBBSV for almost a decade! We have loved watching this match progress and grow and getting to know you both.   As Michaela turns 18 in September the agency will be saying goodbye, but we know that you have a lasting bond that will continue for many year after that.

6 year anniversary with Shannon (Big) and Brittany (Little)

Brittany was matched with Shannon when she was 9 years old. This match consistently meets every 2 weeks and enjoys movies, going to the theatre, baking, crafts, picnics, dog walking, and hiking. The match has a tradition of going out to the same restaurant on each other’s birthdays to exchange gifts. Shannon has said that the best part of the match is Brittany’s enthusiasm.  She has enjoyed being able to watch Brittany grow up into a such a sweet person. Brittany says the match is a 10/10!
