Annual or monthly donations. You decide how much to give and how often! It is easy to set up automatic monthly donations or a one-time gift and you don’t have to share your personal information if you choose not to. You can mail a cheque or donate with a credit card via telephone or online at www.CanadaHelps.org
Gift in a Will – Bequest. This is a simple and easy way for you to make a donation in the future. A specific dollar amount or portion of an estate may be donated. A charitable tax receipt will be sent to your Executor for the gift.
Gifts of Canadian RRSP and RRIF Funds. Designate RRSP or RRIF funds as a future gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters. A charitable tax receipt is issued for the proceeds received.
Gifts of Publicly Traded Securities. Transfer publicly traded securities such as stock, mutual funds, or bonds to make a larger charitable gift at a lower cost to you. Donors may eliminate capital gains tax on donated securities and you receive a charitable receipt for the market value of your gift.
A Gift of Life Insurance. This is a great option for donors who wish to leave gift in the future by making modest premium payments now. You will receive a tax receipt for annual premium payments and a charitable tax receipt will be sent to your Executor for the final gift.
Charitable Gifts of Annuities. A charitable gift annuity provides guaranteed monthly income for the rest for your life, a charitable tax receipt to reduce personal income tax, and a charitable donation to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria collects donations through CanadaHelps.org a central portal for charitable giving. This service reduces administrative costs for our agency and provides users with safe and convenient 24-hour per day access to charitable-giving options, records, and tax receipts.
